Northern Peru Gold District

The Piura Gold Belt: An Emerging Epithermal District

Northern Peru's Piura region is rapidly emerging as one of the most prospective yet underexplored gold belts in the Andes. The district hosts a cluster of epithermal gold and copper-gold porphyry systems that stretch from the Ecuadorian border south through the Tambogrande corridor, where Suyo Mining Inc. (TSX.V: SUYO) holds a 30,938-hectare land package anchored by the active Las Lomas processing plant.

The belt's geological setting is defined by intermediate-sulfidation epithermal veins and distal porphyry stockwork mineralization hosted in volcanic pyroclastic and intrusive rocks. Neighbouring deposits underscore the district's scale: Lundin Gold's Fruta del Norte mine (10.25 Mt at 6.17 g/t Au inferred) sits just across the Ecuadorian border, while Titan Minerals' Dynasty project reports 3.90 million ounces of contained gold. Within Peru, the historical Tambogrande TG-1 VMS deposit and the Río Blanco copper-molybdenum porphyry confirm the region's polymetallic potential.

Suyo Mining's concessions capture both near-term production and long-term discovery upside. The Ato-Miranda vein system carries an estimated 220,000 ounces of gold at 12.28 g/t, while the Hans XX vein system hosts an estimated one million ounces across seven to eight of twenty identified veins. Surface sampling across the Angolos–Chiqueros–Algodonal trend returned 1,434 samples with gold grades between 3 and 635 g/t, with 28% exceeding 3 g/t — a strong indicator of widespread, near-surface mineralization.

With active production generating cash flow, a district-scale land position, and a management team drawn from OceanaGold, Barrick, and Goldman Sachs, Suyo Mining offers investors leveraged exposure to a gold belt that remains underexplored relative to its world-class neighbours. The company's strategy pairs near-term oxide production with a systematic exploration program designed to unlock the porphyry potential beneath the epithermal cover.
